Job Avert Teacher - ASN, Armadale Academy, 35 hours per week, Closing date 31st May 2020THIS POST IS FOR AN AUGUST STARTArmadale Academy is a six-year comprehensive school that serves over 1000 students in the Armadale/Blackridge and Bathgate area. We offer the full range of National Qualifications found in a modern Scottish secondary school. This teacher will be aware of and be able to utilise strategies to improve learner understanding and engagement, will be able to work cooperatively with many different staff both in school and from other agencies to ensure learner needs are being met and will be a reflective practitioner with a commitment to on-going professional learning. The practitioner will be skilled in developing excellent relationships with children and families and will look to raise aspirations, pupil attainment and contribute towards Armadale Academy improvement agenda.A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.West Lothian Council are committed to far reaching changes to the way we deliver our Education Services. Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18. The £59 cost (where appropriate) will be deducted from your salary over a 1 or 3 month period by repayment schedule.
