Job Description

A superb new role has been created to work as a Barista, working within a 6 month long live project in Milton Keynes. You will have a passion for coffee and customer service. The successful candidate will serve hot and cold drinks to customers in a purpose built, experiential centre. You will also take responsibility for creating a welcoming, professional and on-brand customer experience in an efficient and Covid secure manner,Working hours are 8am-6pm Weds-Sunday each week, plus Bank Holidays (time in lieu will be given) although some flexibility will be required, as is the nature with any role within the events industry.This position would suit someone well- presented, articulate and friendly and the Barista will be responsible for;

  • Preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold drinks in a professional and engaging manner
  • Welcoming customers warmly and determine their coffee interests and needs.
  • Educating customers by presenting and explaining the drinks menu; answering questions.
  • Preparing drinks by following preparation and presentation techniques
  • Maintaining inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; fresh water, maintaining supplies for coffee bar.
  • Keeping equipment operational by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Maintaining safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Improving quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the seating area and coffee bar.
  • Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks.
  • Be able to identify any issues or operational opportunities and highlight to the Operations Director or Account Director.
  • The successful candidate will have/be;
  • Proven record in face to face Customer Service.
  • Background in coffee preparation and delivery.
  • A passion for the live events and coffee industry.
  • A confident, persuasive and sensitive communicator, able to work productively with your team and peers.
  • Well presented and demonstrate excellent cleanliness to Covid standards
  • An overarching client service ethic.
  • Positive and highly organised.
  • Proactive, can do attitude with great attention to detail.
