Janitor

Job Description

We are looking for a Janitor to join our clients team on a temporary basis to provide janitorial support to a scheme working with vulnerable people and residents. Janitor Full time - 37 hoursStokesley, North Yorkshire £14.88ph paid weekly via umbrella. Temporary Contract 3 Month rolling As a Janitor, working in this residential setting your main duties will be:

• To provide efficient and effective janitorial support to the Scheme/ establishment including ensuring the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained.
• To assist in the delivery of excellent customer focused services.
• To be responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of the premises and its contents in accordance with the schemes current requirements.
• To conduct and document health & safety inspections of the premises both inside and out at the agreed frequency, reporting any non-compliant issues to the scheme manager or relevant service area.
• To check and monitor systems and functions as required e.g. regular checks of heating systems, thermostatic radiator valves, water temperatures etc.
• To replace lamps/bulbs and domestic fuses, and synchronise clocks, time switches etc. as required. To report all defects and malfunctions to the scheme coordinator and repairs department. d)
• To maintain appropriate records including repair orders, and heating system records, carry out meter readings for the organisation. e)
• To carry out and document weekly fire alarm tests, emergency lighting tests, and assist with evacuation procedures.
• To ensure bin areas are kept clean and tidy.
• To undertake minor repairs to fixtures and fittings including desks, tables and chairs, and to carry out minor redecoration of any area as appropriate and instructed by the scheme coordinator.
