Job Description

We are partnered with this leading global design and leading manufacturers of physical security solutions and suppliers and installers of steel doors, operating from their 135,000 sq feet manufacturing facility in Lincolnshire.Reporting to the Group COO , as the Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the production, maintenance, and stores functions within our manufacturing operations. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality,health and safety, and operational efficiency while embracing lean principles and continuous improvement techniques.Our ideal recruit will have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Experience in operations management within the engineering or manufacturing of engineered products sector. Industries such as bus, rail, off road andaerospace would be perfect. You will also have gained proven experience with lean principles and continuous improvement techniques.Your key responsibiities will include:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies and implement safety programs and initiatives to create a safe working environment.
  • Leading and optimising the production processes to meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
  • Implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to establish and maintain quality standards.
  • Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the operations.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life to ensure optimal equipment functionality utilising OEE data.
  • Oversee inventory control and stores operations to maintain optimal stock levels and part availability to the production areas.
  • Implement efficient material handling processes and controls.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities for team members.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitor and report on operational performance.
  • Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to achieve common objectives.
KPI/Measures:
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Direct Labour cost to be monitored and controlled against budget.
  • Achieve production targets.
  • Ensure cost of quality is reducing in line with budget.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality management systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in relevant operations management tools and software.
  • Proficiency in project management and budget oversight.
  • The ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines.
