Job Description

Preoperative Assessment Nurse | Band 5 dependent on experience | Hull | Full TimeSpire Hull is now recruiting a Registered Nurse to work in their Preoperative Assessment unitNo experience required. Full training providedSpire Hull and East Riding Hospital is based in Anlaby, near Humber Bridge and the hospital provides care for patients across East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire. Our hospital offers a range of services and procedures including orthopaedic, general surgery, weight loss surgery, eye surgery and cosmetic surgery. Other services include, radiology - MRI and CT and physiotherapy. We believe its our people that really set us apart, we work with the very best medical professionals and our colleagues are an attentive and highly experienced team.Duties and responsibilities:

  • Strong understanding of, and the ability, to follow policies and criteria for surgical suitability
  • Managing your time, you will see 7-10 patients per day
  • Completing pre-operative checks and referring on for review as and where needed
  • Liaising with GP’s to follow through on any extra care needed to reduce cancellations
  • You will undergo your pre-assessment course, fully funded
    • Who were looking for:
  • NMC registered adult nurse - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
  • Experience within surgical pre-assessment is preferred but not essential
  • Confidence in your knowledge of when to refer patients
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional time management is key in this pressurised role
