Job Description

Chemotherapy Nurse | Oncology | £31,200 to £34,905 D.O.E | 37.5 Hours Per Week Over 3 days | HullSpire Hull and East Riding Hospital is based in Anlaby, near the Humber Bridge. The hospital provides care for patients across East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire. Our hospital offers a range of services and procedures including orthopaedic, general surgery, weight loss surgery, eye surgery and cosmetic surgery. Other services include, radiology - MRI and CT and physiotherapy.   • Patient assessment using UKONS assessment tool
  • Cannulation and the use of CVAD’s in delivery of chemotherapy
  • Patient/relative/carer support, education and delivery of information throughout the patient journey
  • Liaising or referral to external organisations/services to ensure support is given throughout the whole patient journey
  • Working alongside Oncologists and Clinical Nurse Specialists to ensure high standard of patient care is delivered
  • Who were looking for:
  • Post registration qualification in chemotherapy administration
  • First level degree or equivalent level of experience
  • Proficient in venipuncture and cannulation skills
  • Proficient in the management of CVADs
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary working
  • Effective written and verbal skills
  • Competent with basic IT skills (word processing etc)
  • V300 prescriber (desirable)
  • Teaching qualification or experience (desirable)
  • Masters or working towards (desirable)
  • Recognised advanced communication training (desirable)
