Job Description

Job descriptionAddiction TherapistAre you an experienced psychotherapist looking to work in a dynamic and exciting environment as part of a lively and supportive team, providing the platform for clients to succeed in their abstinence-based recovery from addiction and traumaAs a qualified therapist your duties will involve working therapeutically with our military veteran clients and will include:

  • Providing one-to-one counselling sessions
  • Facilitating in-depth group therapy sessions using a variety of talking and dynamic techniques
  • Participating in group and community activities that support recovery
  • Working with the team to identify appropriate interventions which advance the clients progress along their treatment journeys and reflect the overarching mission and vision for the organisation
Candidates will be qualified as an Addiction Counsellor or equivalent and have experience in the facilitation of group and individual therapy within the addiction field.FDAP membership or evidence of working towards this is essential. Training in motivational interviewing would be an advantage.Skills and Experience
  • Proficient in both written and verbal communication and with strong IT skills
  • Ideally at least 5 years experience working in the field of addiction recovery
  • A proven track-record of working effectively with a wide range of mental health and emotional presentations including trauma and PTSD
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding principles and requirements
