Job Description

Help Me Grow Fostering is part of the BSN Social Care Group. We strive for excellence in the services we deliver and are now looking for a Registered Manager to spearhead operations and lead the team onto the next phase of our journey.As the Registered Manager you will be the Operational Leader over the Fostering Service consisting of, Operations Managers, Social Workers and Support Workers. You will need to be able to successfully support and lead your team through Inspections and be committed to driving and measuring the positive outcomes we generate for the children and young people in our care. You will lead on the development and promotion of services and innovative practice whilst managing within budgets and be a member of the Senior Management team who will contribute to the overall business strategy of the service.You will be the named person and contact for all HMG issues, this including notifiable events or any issues requiring discussion.Summary of Key Accountabilities:

  • Operational management of the Fostering service, holding responsibility for the agency as Registered Manager, ensuring that the agency is always fully compliant with legislative requirements and Policies and Procedures.
  • Manage and lead the team with overall responsibility for their supervisions, effective and efficient allocation of workload and tasks, performance management, appraisals and disciplines in accordance with HMG Fostering policy, training and development plans.
  • Ensure services are developed, delivered and managed in accordance with relevant agendas and frameworks
  • Maintain all records in accordance with agency policy regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Co-ordinate assessment training and supervision of Foster Carers and employees. To work closely with the Recruitment Manager in ensuring that Foster Carers are recruited in the right geographical area, with the right skills.
  • Work to achieve improvements and enhance standards within the agency by constant monitoring and undertaking internal audits
  • Liaise with the Placements Lead to ensure the effective management of all new and existing vacancies.
  • Liaise with the Learning and Development Manager to deliver current and relevant training programmes for all staff and Foster Carers
  • Develop and support the agency’s Foster Carer recruitment strategy along with the Recruitment Manager, Business Development Manager and Director of Operations
  • Ensure the service provides effective 24-hour support to Foster Carers
  • Ensure that all complaints are dealt with in a timely and professional manner and in accordance with the agency and Local Authority policies.
  • To liaise with the 4C’s Framework and assist with the completion of any tender
  • To chair the agency Safeguarding board
  • To attend Carer liaison group
  • Chair schedule 7 monitoring meetings - to be supported by Office Manager
  • Summary of Person Specification:
  • Degree in Social Work and Postgraduate Certificate in Managing Practice Quality in Social Care, Dipsw/CQSW
  • Demonstrable experience of working with and supporter Foster Carers - ideally a minimum of 2 years within the last 5 years
  • At least 1 years experience of supervising and managing professional staff and within a fostering service
  • Experience of manging professional standards and conducting internal audits
