Job Description

Are you a Health Safety and Environmental Manager who wants to work for a large manufacturing business that have manufacturing facilities located across the world.Do you want to work in a Senior role with responsibility to govern and maintain standards across the companys manufacturing facilitiesIf you have previous experience in a HSE Managers role within manufacturing/engineering environment and want to work in a senior role with 4/5 health and safety personnel reporting to you then please read on.The basics:-HSE Manager (70/80% of the role is H&S with some environmental) -Location: Office location is Derby based Hybrid working office and home mixture-Environment: Manufacturing Machining, Fabrication and metal surface treatment -Salary: £40,000-£46,000 DOE -Monday to Friday days flexible hours, but something along the lines of 8am-4:45pm Mon-Thurs and Fri 8am-12:30pm or 7.00am - 16.00pm Monday - Thursday, 7.30am - 12.30pm Friday (39 hrs)-Reporting to the central UK Health and Safety Director -Travel not extensive. Could be some travel to other sites.-Other: company car and fuel card offered OR mileage allowance and allowance in salary if company car not opted for.OverviewWorking for a well-established manufacturing business with sites across the globe, we are now looking for a Senior HSE Manager to join the business.This role will be more focused towards governing the existing procedures and ensuring the sites adhere to the company standards. The company pride themselves on standardisation across each manufacturing plant whether that be a UK or further a field.As the Senior HSE Manager you will be reporting directly to the HSE Director for the UK to which you will have x4/5 reports with health and safety managers at each of the UK Manufacturing plants.Overview of responsibilities of the Senior HSE Manager role: Ensure that all company HSE policies and procedures are communicated, understood and adhered to at all of the companies sites.Responsible for all HSE management across the groupPromoting and developing a strong Safety culture oriented towards continuous improvement and in reinforcing HSE leadership from key Company staffEnsure Health, Safety and environmental working conditions are followed at all timesDrive and maintain the Companys HSE reputationPerform regular audits and monitor HSE performance to identify areas for improvement, and ensure that appropriate corrective or preventative actions are takenFacilitate the maintenance and management of occupational Health, Safety and well-being through systems, audit/inspection and the establishment of high standards and expectations on employees of Safety aware behaviours/performanceManage audits and the Health and Safety team at site level if required. Liaising with officials from the regulatory authorities to ensure the organisation is compliant with mandatory regulationsThe ideal Senior HSE Manager will have as many of the following in order to strengthen application:Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation.Experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment. Ability to effectively manage meetings, investigations and group discussions.High level of verbal and written communication skills with a strong characterAbility to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality.Ability to design and deliver training modules.Patience and diplomacy and a collaborative approachNegotiating skillsMust possess or be working towards NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum standard.Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & ISO5001 environmental/Health & Safety management systems is desirable.IOSH qualified desirable Member of the institute of Occupation safety and health desirable What is in it for you:-Opportunity within a large UK manufacturing organisation -Life insurance, Pension, 33 days holiday, Private Health, Company Car.
