They are seeking an experienced Accountant to report to the General Manager. Currently out sourcing the accounts they are looking to bring these in-house.The role will be extremely interesting and varied working in a friendly environment and dealing with many none finance personnel.You will be a key member of the management team and be responsible for the day to day accounting and financial management of the Association:• To ensure that appropriate financial controls are in operation, particularly concerning cash transactions• To develop and improve financial and reporting systems in response to business needsKEY RESPONSIBILITIESSoftware• Xero Accounts - experience preferred• Power Retrieve - document archival - training provided• Signable - document tracking - training provided• Microsoft Office Suite - knowledge required General Accounts • Preparation and management of the Associations overall annual finance plan including direct costs, overheads• Preparation of financial forecasts and latest estimates• Oversight of book keeping activities for sales and purchase ledgers• Preparation of accounts correspondence• Dealing with telephone enquiries as required• Processing, filing and archiving accounts paperwork in accordance with electronic filing system• Month/Year End processing using Sage 50 AccountsManagement Information and Accounts• Preparation of management monthly accounts for issue to the Executive• Comparisons of actual & budget and explanations of variances• Overhead analysisTaxation• MGD Returns• Preparing quarterly MGD returns and submission• VAT Returns• Preparing quarterly VAT returns and submission• Prepare annual submission and payment for Corporation Tax• Ensuring all tax payments are processed and carried out to avoid any penaltiesBank and Cash• Monthly bank reconciliation • Posting nominal receipts and payments and recurring entries• Preparation and management of monthly and rolling cashflow Sales Ledger and Credit Control• Matching sales receipts to sales invoices• Chasing outstanding sales invoices by telephone and e-mail• Ensuring correct posting on SageKey Relationships• Act as the day to day contact for accounts queries• Liaise with external auditors and accountants• Liaising and advising internal managers and colleaguesBENEFITS• Company sickness scheme• Free gym membership• Subsidised meals• Access to Company perks scheme• Access to Employee Assistance ProgrammeThis is a great role for a commercially minded Accountant who enjoys using their initiative. Sageline 50 skills are required.
