Summary Come and play a part in our must-see festive spectacular at Dunham Massey, giving our visitors a Christmas to remember. Learn more about our outdoor illuminated trail here.This important part time role is for a fixed term ending 29 January 2023, to support and deliver the Christmas at Dunham Massey event, working closely with our commercial partners and raising money to fund important conservation work at Dunham Massey. Overthe period you will work an average of 5 days per week but working days and hours will vary during the pre-event, event and post-event periods. Youll be happy to work flexibly and enjoy teamwork.During the event youll be required to work a proportion of the 40 event dates as a member of the National Trust Event Team.Hours: 400 hours over the contract length. What its like to work here Dunham Massey is a 3,000-acre estate situated approximately 10 miles south of central Manchester and three miles south of Altrincham. Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford, gave it to the National Trust in 1976 and today it attracts over 500,000 visitors a year.This elegant Georgian mansion, set within a magnificent 300 acre deer park and including one of Britains finest winter gardens, is a very popular visitor attraction with over 100 staff. The busy team has a strong commercial focus and a fast-paced environment.Within the park walls there is also a shop, caf, restaurant and ice cream parlour. On the wider estate, there are 20 farms, 100 cottages, a golf course and an award winning housing development. The house, garden and parkland hide many layers of history andhave many stories to tell. Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing Youll have responsibility for the day to day venue operational management of the event, including throughout the rig, event and de-rig periods. Working with property colleagues, and event partners, you will ensure that Dunhams buildings and landscape receivethe appropriate protection, and maximise opportunities to communicate the core purpose and work of the National Trust to the tens of thousands of visitors. Youll have operational line management responsibility for NT staff & volunteers on event nights, andlocal responsibility for the consistent delivery of a great visitor experience for our visitors.Youll use your strong people skills to establish good working relationships with property colleagues and event partners, and lead on the venue duty management rota for the event, supported by members of the Dunham management and wider property team.You will work closely with Dunhams Business Services Team to answer customer queries, provide information and assist with the administration of the event in general.A key part of this role is to ensure full compliance with relevant organisational systems and procedures, promoting awareness of health & safety and assessing and managing risk to ensure the safe and cost effective operation of the event at all times, andto deliver a consistently high standard of presentation and a great Dunham welcome to all of our visitors. x Who were looking for This is a significant role at a busy property and we need someone who can hit the ground running to take on the challenge of maintaining the great reputation of this event.
