Job Description

We are recruiting an Electrician to join our Onward Repairs team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business to deliver Electrical repairs and tests undertaking activities within customers homes, empty propertiesand for other clients as required.Colleague Benefits:

About us:Onward Homes is one of the largest registered providers of social housing in the North West, with 35,000 properties across the region employing over 900 colleagues.Onward Repairs are Onward Homes in house contractor and are one of the largest contractors in the area and we aim to deliver a high-quality flexible service to our customers ensuring our homes remain fit for the future.We operate across the Lancashire region providing all day-to-day repairs and vacant properties repairs, gas servicing and out of hours service to our customers.What we are looking for:
  • Sound knowledge of Electrical components and fittings.
  • Experience of carrying out Electrical servicing and repairs.
  • Proven ability to deliver a quality customer centred repairs service.
  • Proven ability to work to required standards.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations, regulation and ACOPS relevant to the post and associated tasks undertaken within it, in line with HASAWA 1974.
Essential requirements:
  • Qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 (recognised Electrical trade qualification).
  • Code of Practice for Electrical Safety or similar electrical qualification for Fixed Electrical Equipment and Portable Appliance Testing regimes.
  • Appropriate CSCS card.
  • Qualified to 2391 (Testing & Inspection) or equivalent qualification.
Desirable requirements:
  • Experience of PV and ASHP systems and working within a commercial and domestic property maintenance environment.
  • Experience of delivering services within the social housing sector.
  • Ability to use PDA technology (handheld/mobile working technology).
The role may involve participation in an emergency out of hours service as required on a rota basis which includes weekend work.
