RPS is looking for an enthusiastic Data Co-ordination & GIS Consultant to join our Environmental Compliance & Ground Engineering Team. The ECGE team works in a wide range of sectors including energy, development, waste and commercial sectors on project sites across the UK providing our clients with high quality and commercially focused environmental services. Our projects include undertaking environmental sampling programmes, ground investigations and monitoring land contamination remediation. We specialise in all areas of the built and natural environment, shaping the future of our environmental, social and economic landscapes and by joining us, you will be part of a leading global multi-disciplinary consultancy.Your roleYour primary focus will be the data entry and management of site data into a database management system alongside GIS and CAD drawing support to colleagues within the team using ESRI ArcGIS and AutoCad software. You’ll manage site investigation data and documentation and ensure that digital project data is recorded accurately, complete and validated in accordance with the approved QA system. You’ll also have responsibility for Equipment store management including ensuring field equipment is properly maintained, serviced and calibrated. Support with field based environmental monitoring programmes and other field sampling activities could be required on an ad-hoc basis.Your skills and experienceWe’ll need you to be competent with Excel and capable of data manipulation and basic formulas, have basic AutoCAD skills (including an understanding of 3D data) and awareness of complimentary GIS/CAD software. Ideally you will have experience of geotechnical and environmental data management software (HoleBASE SI) and have worked within a consultancy or contractor environment.
