Job Description

Site Supervisor(Explosives manufacturing)Location: Alfreton, DerbyshireSalary: Very Competitive + Excellent benefitsOur client, a globally renowned leader in the explosives, demolition, drilling and blasting industry, is currently seeking a highly skilled Site Supervisor for their manufacturing operations in Alfreton, Derbyshire.As the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing, assembly, and storage processes. Your primary focus will be ensuring the welfare and safety of all operational personnel whiledriving efficient production practices and minimising environmental impact. Compliance with relevant processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements is paramount.Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate goals, objectives, targets, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to the team on a regular basis, taking necessary corrective actions to achieve them.
  • Prioritise the safety of personnel and ensure the effectiveness of supervised processes.
  • Meticulously plan production activities to maximise efficiency, including the receipt, storage, and conveyance of raw materials on-site, as well as the transportation of finished goods.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of production processes and explosive storage, adhering to required procedures.
  • Report on performance, identifying areas for improvement and proposing suitable measures.
  • Foster collaboration with other teams and departments to minimise downtime caused by defects.
  • Ensure the successful implementation of organisational policies and goals.
  • Maintain strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
  • Deliver comprehensive training, including competency assessments, to maintain high standards.
  • Actively participate in the periodic review of management systems.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by line management.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful work experience in operations at a Top Tier COMAH facility.
  • Vocational Qualification (VQ) in explosives manufacture.
  • Demonstrable experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Site Incident Controller Awareness Training.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) license.
  • Process Safety Management for Operations (PSMO).
  • On-site manufacturing process training.
  • Site Incident Controller (SIC) Accreditation.
  • Hoist training.
