Job Description

PRODUCTION MANAGERAlfreton £39,000 - £42,000 + Benfits We are looking for a motivated Production Manager to join a market leading manufacturer in their respective field. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. You will be involvedin all aspects of production within their operation. With progressive training and development this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team. The position will appeal toa strong manager looking for their next challenging role within in a secure and stable company.Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and support all aspects of production including laboratory test work.
  • Manage the overall design of process flowsheets, plant layouts, material handling systems, manpower requirements, equipment procurement and material utilization.
  • Develop and manage metallurgical operations and work practices that maximize operational efficiencies.
  • Improve plant operating performance; reduce waste and delays; promote cost reductions; and achieve a high level of operating efficiency.
  • Evaluate current and potential processing methods.
  • Monitor and analyse key metallurgical performance indicators of process operations and recommend corrective actions to the operations team.
  • Manage metallurgical and chemical engineering activities working with the operations team and external consultants.
  • Create and distribute monthly metallurgical and engineering reports.
  • Work within cross-functional teams and coach, mentor supervise and lead direct reports.

Knowledge
  • 3-5 years working experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing & Metallurgy background essential
  • Metallurgy degree or related qualification
  • Interests in continuous improvement, problem solving and change management in a manufacturing environment
  • Health & Safety in the Workplace (IOSH/NEBOSH)
