Finance DirectorLocation: Alfreton, DE55 7JRSalary: Circa £100K + Car Allowance and benefits!Contract: Full time, PermanentBenefits: 26 Days Holiday + Stats, BUPA, Executive Management PRP Scheme, 5% Company Pension, Life Insurance Cover, Employee Assistance Programme and a Staff Discount Scheme!A successful family-owned business with a 40-year history of innovation and customer excellence, we operate in a growth market where we are market leaders in our area of expertise, offering products that enable people to maintain their independence, includingthe use of their cars.Our products are genuinely liberating and transformative for their users.The ABC Mobility Group are the holding Company for Autochair, Brig-Ayd Controls, the Adaptation Installation Company hubs and the newly launched Mobility In Motion business.We operate in a niche market and while you may not know us now, one day as you inevitably get older you may come to rely on one of the products we offer.We are now recruiting for a Finance Director with a strong strategic focus, ensuring robust financial control, compliance and working capital management.Reporting to the Managing Director and playing a key role within the Leadership Team, this hands on’ remit requires a fully qualified accountant who supports the business in achieving its strategic objectives.In addition to this, as our Finance Director you will be responsible for:

  • Leadership of the finance department and adopting the company values’ in managing employees
  • Developing financial systems, procedures and processes, including automation innovation, to support current and future business efficiency improvement goals
  • Ownership of the business planning and budgeting process with ongoing review
  • Preparation and presentation of timely and insightful financial reports and analysis to drive business improvement
  • Management of cashflow and working capital forecasts ensuring strong cash collection
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and returns
  • Oversee all audit and internal control operations and deliver results within agreed timescales
  • Ensuring the company’s financial framework is operating within statutory legislation
  • Ensure the group of companies are operating in a tax efficient manner
  • External relationship management including auditors, banks, insurers, pension scheme providers and external advisors
  • Supporting and influencing the delivery of strategy to meet shorter term commercial goals and medium-term group objectives
  • Ensure the smooth integration of acquired businesses
What are we looking forThis remit requires a qualified accountant who loves to make a difference!Someone who thrives at being at the heart of the business and creates confidence and credibility across the group companies, that the finance function adds value whilst also ensuring the day-to-day aspects of finance run like clockwork!Specific skills, experience and attributes we seek include the following:
  • A technically strong qualified accountant (ideally initially trained in practice) who can deliver robust financial control, reporting and compliance
  • Proven experience as director of finance (preferably within a manufacturing environment)
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practice
  • An analytical mind with a strategic ability
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working within a group environment where small companies have come together, ideally within manufacturing (where there are multi-site operations)
  • A high attention to detail balanced with strong commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Proven capability in delivering great efficiency in finance through development of people and improvement of systems and processes, including automation
