My client is a very well known UK brand name centred around helping people and doing good and are looking for 1 mid level Azure Data Engineer as they set up their data engineer function, with plans to add another 2-4 engineers over the next 6-12 months.This role will be mostly remote, with 6 days per month on a rotational basis in their incredible HQ in Alfreton, with flexibility to do 1 day per week for those further away. On offer is a salary of £45k - £75k and a fantastic benefits package, as outlinedbelow.Responsibilities:* Help set up and deliver the future direction of the clients strategy and approach to the management, storage and usage of data* Collaborate with their wider technology and business teams to ensure goals and visions are aligned and achieved* Help with setting up their data warehousing and lake processes, including collaborating with their architecture teams to figure out what that will look like* At times, guide and mentor the junior data engineers within the team, reviewing their ideas, providing feedback and identifying their knowledge gaps to support their developmentRequirements:* Strong experience with setting up and using big data storage solutions, including data warehouses, data lakes or data lake houses* Able to build and demonstrate a solid understanding of the concepts of real time data streaming, batch data processing and data transformation processes* Familiarity with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Purview, Infrastructure as Code and Aparche Spark or SQL pools* Any exposure to SQL DBA would be highly beneficial to be able to optimise the ETL process and provide solutions to their dev teams* Any previous experience with setting up data governance and processes would be highly beneficialBenefits:* 26 days AL + bank holidays, plus they are currently trialling a 9 day fortnight where you can opt in to condense your standard working hours and have 1 day every other week off* Up to 5% employer pension contribution* Performance related bonuses at Christmas and after first 18 months* Health cash plan to spend as you want (the tax element is also covered by the client)* Life assurance and enhanced maternity/paternity and sick pay* Heavily subsidised onsite restaurant offering freshly made lunchesIf you are interested, please click apply and share your CV.
