JOB TITLE: Cleaning Assistant - part timeStart Date: ASAP, dependant on receipt of references and DBS checkREPORTS TO: Cleaning SupervisorHOURS: 15 hours per week | Monday to Friday 5.30am to 8.30am195 days p.a. | term time only plus 1 week, to be worked during the last week of the schools summer holidayPAY: NJC Band A: Point 1 | £7,056 p.a. You will be responsible for cleaning a specific area of the school in accordance with school standards. Work will be undertaken under the guidance of theCleaning Supervisor / Site Manager, and high standards of cleaning are essential, as is the ability to follow safe working practices.Your core responsibilities will include the cleaning of toilets, bowls, sinks and basins, the wiping down of desks and chairs and the vacuuming and tidying of classrooms, and the cleaning of internal glazing (windows & doors). You will also be required todust and polish designated areas, move furniture and equipment to assist cleaning, and use the Buffer on hard floors. You will be expected to undertake basic routine maintenance of equipment (e.g. change vacuum bags), empty bins and dispose of rubbish, andto ensure the safe and effective use and storage of all equipment.You should be aware of and prepared to follow Health and Safety at work Regulations and COSHH guidelines., and be prepared to participate in training or demonstration sessions to develop skills or knowledge as appropriate. You should be prepared to assistthe Cleaning Supervisor and other cleaning team colleagues where necessary to provide support or cover of duties in the case of absence, and to prepare for school events etc.You should be flexible should emergencies occur that require a change in cleaning routine or a change of working pattern times or specific areas to be cleaned, and will be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, equalopportunities, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection.
