Working as part of the catering team preparing healthy food efficiently and effectively and providing a good customer service,you will carry out all duties following all food hygiene/handling standards and safe working practices.The catering assistant will participate in the production of food in line with the daily menu, or with batch baking, as appropriate, and in accordance with all food safety regulations. You will help to plan numbers for lunch and break times using your knowledgeof service, and you will be responsible for allergen labelling and compliance, the preparation of the service area, hot cupboards and other equipment, and to serve meals to students and staff in the various catering outlets, speaking briefly to the pupils,staff and visitors as appropriate, in order to guide their choice of menu items and increase awareness of foods. You will serve on the catering outlet tills, prepare the dining facilities, including where appropriate, the placing and removal of the tablesand chairs, and the cleaning of the area after service. You will receive deliveries and put them away, whilst recording any discrepancies, and participate in the care and the cleaning of the kitchen areas, dining room and equipment as required.
