Job Description

HR ManagerAlcesterSalary up to£33,150 per annumPermanentfull time or part-time role is available We are excited to be recruiting for this role for our client, an independent, family-run business established back in 1965, based in Alcester. They are seeking an HR Manager to manage all HR matters within the Company. This person will be responsible inmaking sure the company is abiding by its legal obligations relating to HR and H&S.This is a new position within the company, meaning the successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to build the base of the new HR and H&S Department. You will be able to work with a growing Company in an exciting sector. You will be the startof a new HR department and will be given the freedom to improve and manage this department. We provide fantastic opportunities for personal development and progression within the Company. TheHR Managers day to day duties are as follows:

  • Supporting Site Managers in their decision making and management
  • Keeping them updated with all relevant HR changes
  • Implementing changes in legislation and keeping systems up to date and accurate
  • Providing guidance and advice to site management and employees on anything relating to HR issues
  • Undertaking and managing any relevant meetings regarding dismissals, suspensions or investigations, and completing any relevant paperwork
  • Managing the Health & Safety of all sites, while working with site managers
  • Designated Coronavirus manager, ensuring rules are adhered to
  • Organising of external training and events
  • Working with external law experts to monitor and implement current employment law
  • Managing GDPR regulations
  • Managing Company policies
  • Enhancing the wellbeing of staff
  • Implementing new systems
  • Issuing all paperwork in relation to HR
  • Assisting with recruitment and implementing the recruitment process
  • Day to Day management and maintenance of the internal HR systems
  • Inputting relevant information on employees
  • Keeping contractual information up to date
  • Holiday and absence tracking, monitoring this regularly
  • Any other relevant duties
To be considered for our HR Managers role;
  • Employee relations experience, including management of sickness absence, disciplinary procedures, and grievances.
  • Experience in updating any HR policies or procedures within the workplace, and will challenge any existing policies in place.
  • Experience of managing and developing HR Systems or initiatives on time and within budget
  • Previous management and/or implementation of a HR system
  • Experience of providing accurate advice to employees and managers on HR and employment-related matters
  • Excellent communication skills, including producing clear and concise reports when required, communication letters to staff and any communications to external HR experts
  • Excellent prioritisation skills, dealing with pressing matters before more basic tasks
  • Exceptional organisational skills, being able to manage your workday efficiently and complete tasks on time, especially in relation to legal requirements such as Health & Safety.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality where necessary
  • Great IT skills, including that of Microsoft Office and HR systems
  • Previous management experience, managing other members of staff efficiently to get the best results
  • CIPD qualification or relevant degree preferred, but not essential
