A vacancy has arisen for an experienced mental health nurse in the Dementia Outreach Team.The team provides a service across Forth Valley and is based at Airth Health Centre.We are looking for a registered mental health nurse with previous post registration experience, and the required knowledge and skills to work at Expertise Level on the Promoting Excellence Framework. This should include experience in an acute or community mental health setting. You should also have experience of mentoring and supervision of junior staff.Highly developed communication and assessment skills are essential and you should have the specialist knowledge and clinical competencies required to plan the provision and evaluation of evidence based interventions for people with dementia including support to families. You will also be expected to provide advice, support and guidance to a variety of other agencies/partners, therefore experience of joint working and a knowledge and understanding of current Mental Health, Adults with Incapacity and Community Care legislation is necessary.
