Job Description

Fire Protection SurveyorUp to £45K + PackageAirdrieMy client is a leading contractor operating within the Social Housing repairs and maintenance sector. Due to continued expansion, they currently have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join their team based in Airdrie.As well as candidates with relevant experience and qualifications we will also consider:> Building Surveyors with experience of Stock Condition Surveys looking at getting in to the Fire Industry.> Trades people with experience of fitting and repairing Fire Doors, looking to get off the tools and into a technical role.> Supervisors who have been overseeing teams delivering FRA works looking for a career change.You will be part of a team carrying out Fire Door Surveys for private and public sector clients including Student Accommodation, Schools, Colleges, Housing Associations and Local Councils.Fire Door SurveyorResponsibilities:

  • Complete visual inspections and surveys on fire doors to ensure they are up to compliance standards
  • Produce reports and offer advice and recommendations to clients
  • Have a good understanding of Timber Fire Doors, door surrounds and similar furniture
  • Be able to identify that the frame specification is correct for the doors rating
  • Be able to ensure that the choice of Frame/lining/casing and intumescent smoke seals are compatible
  • Have good working knowledge of current Health & Safety and other relevant legislation
What are we looking for
  • FDIS Diploma or equivalent preferred but not essential as training can be provided to attain qualifications
  • Surveying experience of private and public sector properties
  • Full UK driving license
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • IT literate, able to use microsoft suite and Tablet/PDAs.
