University Hospital MonklandsConsultant Physician in Acute & General Medicine University Hospital Monklands (UHM) is looking to appoint two Consultant Physicians in Acute & General Medicine to join its existing team, currently made up of an Acute Physician, four General Physicians with subspecialty interest, and wider multi-disciplinary team.The department has redesigned its Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) processes, enabling it to take forward a number of exciting new ‘front door’ developments including the establishment on an Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC) unit.The Acute Physicians are well supported by Physician of the Day and dedicated Physician of the Week models, alongside Specialist Nurses in MAU. Excellent support is also provided by nursing and medical colleagues in the Emergency Department.The successful applicants will participate in the acute rota which is variable and flexible depending on the commitments of the team, and will also participate in the Physician of the Week/Day and weekend on-call rotas.Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals who are keen to contribute to the ongoing development of services.
