Job Description

Our client, a well-known Public Sector organisation based in Airdrie, requires an Administrative Officer on a temporary basis until 31st March 2022. The salary for the position is £11.25 per hour. Hours of work Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pmA Standard Disclosure issued within the last 12 months will be required for this role.Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure correspondence, counter enquiries telephone calls are replied to
  • Processing and distributing incoming mail and mail via the inbox
  • General photocopying and filing
  • Processing fine payments
  • Regular contact with a rage of court users, including members of the public, members of the Judiciary and the legal profession. As such you be required to competently answer queries giving consistent and reliable advice
  • Prepare civil and criminal courts
  • Process court minutes in the range of criminal courts through the COPII system
  • Process summary criminal bail appeals
  • Process all letters, requests for reports, transfers in and out of community payback orders, legal aid applications
  • Prepare for issue pre/post-conviction apprehension warrants
  • Process applications for search warrants
  • Process new Sheriff Court breaches of Community Payback Orders
  • Process applications for exemption and update jury package system
  • Process DVLA enquiries and intimations of endorsements, disqualifications and restoration of driving licence
  • Deal with press enquiries and requests for access to criminal complaints and indictments
  • Process Vulnerable Witness Applications
  • Prepare interlocutors from the various civil courts
  • Check and register ordinary civil and divorce initial writs, summary applications, summary warrants, summary cause summons, heritable bookings etc
  • Check and register all simplified divorce applications and caveats.
  • Check and process notice of intentions to defend lodged
  • Check and prepare minutes for decree in absence
  • Process all appeals received for ordinary and personal injury appeals
  • Process motions, joint motions, minutes and any opposition to motions
  • Process minutes for recall
  • Process all application and response forms from respondents from simple procedure cases
Key Skills and Requirements
  • Experience of working in a customer focussed environment
  • Strong Administration skills
  • Able to work in a highly confidential environment
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines whilst managing a varied workload
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Self-motivation with the ability to think logically and follow procedures
  • A good understanding of IT packages
