Job Description

Prime Life are on the lookout for passionate and dedicated care professionals to join our friendly team as a Learning and Development Coordinator.It is essential for this role that you have experience in working in the Healthcare Sector.The Learning and Development Coordinator role will be based at Springhill Care Home, standing in four acres of landscape grounds with spectacular views of the surrounding Lancashire countryside, Springhill Care Home is a 110bedded home providing luxuryen-suite accommodation, personalised care and support for adults and older people with a wide range of specialist needs including dementia and end of life servicesPurpose of Job:We are currently recruiting for an experienced Learning and Development Coordinator to deliver training initiatives designed to meet the individual needs of our employees.The successful candidate will be implementing and reviewing the organisations trainingplan to ensure that existing and future needs of the business are met.Main Responsibilities of the Learning and Development Coordinator:

  1. Assess relevant training and development needs of individuals and teams in consultation with the manager of the service.
  2. Deliver the induction programme in conjunction with all mandatory and role specific clinical training.
  3. Keep abreast of relevant skills and qualification levels required by staff for effective performance and continuous service improvement and to support the overall business objectives.
  4. Map out training plans, design and deliver training courses programmes necessary to meet training needs (outsourced or in-house). Flexibility will be required to offer training to the night staff should business needs dictate
  5. Actively source and manage activity of external providers and develop effective partnerships with a selection of training providers.
  6. Develop opportunities for apprentices and assist managers develop effective programmes
  7. Deliver the induction and care certificate programmes as required.
  8. Plan and organise training and development events throughout the year, in accordance with the needs of the service and staff.
  9. Coordinate requests to attend external courses and conferences which involves follow up on approval and registration.
  10. Ensure all training activities and materials meet relevant organisational and statutory policies including health and safety, employment and equality laws.
  11. Provide assessing and verification support when required.
  12. Identify and access grant funding that is available for learning and development activity.
  13. Monitor the learning and development budget effectively.
  14. Ensure that staff are utilising CPD files and that Training Matrix and Skills for Care database are maintained accurately.
  15. To review the induction programme and paperwork so that it meets required standards and ensure the programme is delivered in line with procedure.
  16. Organise structures that monitor and provide ongoing training and continuing professional development for all staff.
  17. Conduct competency based assessments with day and night staff as required.
  18. Provide coaching and mentoring to individuals and teams when required.
  19. Develop self and maintain knowledge in relevant fields at all times.
  20. In line with the need for evidence of competence, to develop and review existing competence frameworks to ensure staff are competent to undertake tasks.
  21. Support General Managers with access to clinical training.
  22. Ensure training records are maintained and in-house training facilities and equipment are to the required standard.
