Job Description

Youll collaborate to solve customer issues, build strong customer relationships and problem-solve technical issues to help our customers benefit from the full potential of my clients shipping products and services. They will also rely on you to use the latest forecast information to deliver high-quality weather data to support the organisations proprietary weather data products such as the BonVoyage System (BVS).Client DetailsAs a leader in global weather intelligence, my retained client have been selected by the UN as a participant in the UN Global Compact. Specifically, the Action Platform for Sustainable Ocean Business under which Climate Action and Life Below Water are the primary focus. They are a trusted partner for companies who require decision support for weather sensitive operations. Since 2018 they have saved over 1.4 million MT of fuel equating to over 4.1 million tons of CO2, or the removal of 875,000 cars from the road.They are a leading provider of shore-based ship route advisory services, on-board voyage optimization systems and fleet management systems. The company routes 50,000 ship voyages annually. Its award winning products and services are designed to help ship owners, charterers, operators, fleet managers and captains identify the safest, most time-efficient or fuel-efficient routes for their fleets.DescriptionThe Weather Technician role is the first step in a career path in a broader Customer Service Team. Youll collaborate to solve customer issues, build strong customer relationships and problem-solve technical issues to help our customers benefit from the full potential of my clients shipping products and services. Well also rely on you to use the latest forecast information to deliver high-quality weather data to support the organisations proprietary weather data products. If this sounds like you, you could be the next Weather Technician. Specifically, youll contribute to the following:

  • Support operations teams in servicing their clients shipping needs
  • Provide world-class customer service, troubleshooting, and technical support
  • Support company weather data products by generating weather fronts, analysis of high and low-pressure areas, creating and disseminating tropical cyclone information and performing global ice analysis
  • Through training and experience you will specifically be asked to partake in the following:-
  • Provide entry level customer and technical support for the BVS software
  • Perform frontal and high-low analysis for All Weather Technician (AWTs) products and services
  • Creation and dissemination of tropical cyclone information for AWTs products and services
  • Inspect weather data products to ensure proper display functionality within BVS software
  • Manage AWTs database for BVS accounts within internal operation system
  • Monitoring System Log and Alerts for technical issues related with weather data distribution to customers
  • Monitor and log vessels not Polling into spreadsheets
  • Trained and perform the global ice analysis
  • Assigned additional tasks as instructed by management
  • ProfileApplicants should meet the following criteria:-
  • Minimum associate degree in science or related field, or relevant work experience
  • Experience supporting customers via phone, e-mail, chat, and/or in person
  • Passion for customer service and ownership of the customer experience including comprehensive issue resolution
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, with next-level attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work as part of a team or independently, as needed, to meet shifting deadlines, priorities, and schedules
