Job Description

Trainee Field Service SpecialistAberdeenPermanentDo you have experience in a workshop and are looking to take your first step into an Offshore role Or maybe you already have a couple of years experience and would like to upskill.A global leading Oil & Energy engineering firm, has a fantastic opportunity for a trainee Field Service Specialist.The Field Specialist Trainee is responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable PSD to Customers. The Field Specialist Trainee identifies opportunities to improve service delivery, implements standard work, and manage risk during service delivery.Other duties include the installation, retrieval, commissioning and maintenance of Surface Wellhead and Tree Systems as well as ancillary equipment according to company and client procedures.

  • Ensure Health, Safety, and Security & Environmental procedures are adhered to.
  • Work in a safe & compliant manner following all the relevant procedures.
  • Ensure safe, timely and compliant operations at the well site, job location or plant, including rig-up and rig-down of equipment and installation of
  • Ensure job deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.
  • Ensure company and regulatory standard compliance by implementing the CAT, self-assessments, and wellsite inspections.
  • Participate in Service Quality Meetings with customers and improve performance using action plans.
  • Participate in HSE and Quality initiatives.
  • Provide Support/Installation/Run SIT on Surface Trees and Wellheads when required.
  • Document product and service non-conformances in the field via the Quest & Intouch reporting systems within prescribed timelines.
  • Decommission and/or rig down and organise shipping of test equipment, spares or any excess equipment back to the facility.
  • Submit customer and service reports, timesheets and participate in job debrief.
  • Assure that equipment and parts meet established schedules.
  • Review reported malfunctions and identify / analyze any undesirable trends.
  • Review effectiveness of maintenance actions to identify process improvements.
  • Complete Digital Field Service Orders (FSOs) and Online Competency Checklists before demobilisation and ensure that the customer has reviewed and signed the FSO/Competence Checklists applicable to the task.
Qualifications / Skills
  • Qualification in mechanical engineering to SVQ level 4 or ONC Mech. Eng, HNC or HND, or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years relevant onshore or offshore experience desirable.
  • Report writing skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication & Interpersonal skills.
  • PC skills to include general Microsoft Suite, Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
