Job Description

Software TesterRemote (if based in Scotland) / Hybrid (Aberdeen based)Salary around £40,000Be-IT are working with a software house within the drinks industry who are looking to hire a Software Tester. As the sole Test Analyst, you will collaborate closely with theProduct Manager and Development Team, ensuring the quality and reliability of thecompanyssolutions next iteration, developed using Angular. Your responsibilities will encompass designing, maintaining, and executing both automatic and manual tests on new and existing software. Being the sole dedicated testing resource.This role offersa unique opportunity for a confident and experienced tester to take full ownership of the testing function.Main Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain, and execute manual and automated (currently Cypress) test plans and their assets, including test data, and other necessary components.
  • Define and document acceptance criteria and test plans for new development tasks based on analysis of functional requirements and user stories.
  • Record and report on test results, including failure modes, untestable designs, and other flaws and work with developers to address and resolve failures.
  • Write supporting system documentation and release notes.
  • Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression).
  • Keep user experience front of mind during testing and suggest usability improvements where necessary.
Experience:
  • Experience in defining testing processes and procedures.
  • Prior experience of automated testing and test management.
  • Prior experience of any scripting language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, etc.) for the purpose of creating and maintaining automated tests.
  • Working knowledge of modern quality assurance and test management practices.
  • Familiarity with secure software design fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of tools used to execute and report on automates tests.
