  • Programming languages - Java J2EE, Struts, Spring, JSF, jQuery, Jasper
  • Knowledge of Change Management, Release Management and Configuration procedures
  • Experience in mobile/digital technologies
  • Database skills - Oracle SQL, PL/SQL
  • Mobile/Digital technologies - Angular, Bootstrap, WSO2 API Manager, JSON, RESTful APIs
  • Subversion, Jira, Bitbucket
  • Red Hat, Solaris, Linux / Unix Administration, WebLogic, Apache Tomcat
  • VMware, Azure/Cloud
    • Due to the secure nature of this work all applicants will be required to gain UK Security Clearance to at least SC level. You must have been resident in the UK for at least the last 5 years and cannot have been outside the UK for more than 28 days on any one occasion within this time.Position Summary:Our clients Application Support Centre provides application support and development across a number of clients including the UK Government and upstream Oil and Gas companies. Their software provides solutions to several operators, and their application provides personnel and certification tracking for over 50 oil and gas operators worldwide. Support and maintenance services for these systems are also provided as well as ongoing consultancy, enhancement and development services.An opportunity has arisen for to join the team based in Aberdeen (working from home for the time being) as a Software Engineer. The role is varied and will give you exposure to many areas of application support and development, including client interfacing, bug fixing, coding, internal and external reporting, change management, testing and documentation.Job role and responsibilities:
  • Developing new code to enhance the functionality in accordance with business change and technical specifications
  • Delivery of agreed upgrade, enhancement and patching activities
  • Creating Unit, System Integration and End-to-end test specifications
  • Technical resolution of service-affecting incidents in line with agreed resolution targets
  • Investigation and resolution of root cause of service-affecting incidents
  • Ensure that all work follows procedures regarding incident, problem and change management
  • Ensure any safety issues are properly considered at all times
  • Creation & maintenance of support documentation
