Job Description

FINTEC recruit is seeking aProject Engineerfor our engineering/fabrication client near Huntly in Aberdeenshire. This is a permanent position with salary negotiable depending on experience plus benefits package. You will require to have a solid backgroundin steel fabrication, be involved in the design, planning, and execution for projects; working closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams.Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and managing the engineering aspects of steel fabrication projects
  • Provide comprehensive technical support in line with company procedure.
  • Able to develop engineering plans and specifications for fabrication projects
  • Prepare designs, drawings and material selection based on project requirements and industry standards
  • Project planning, developing project schedules, cost estimates and resource allocation plans working with internal/external stakeholders
  • Coordinate with suppliers and procurement teams for materials meeting project specifications and quality standards. Able to evaluate and approve supplier proposals and material test reports.
  • Provide technical guidance to fabrication teams during the manufacturing process
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation, design changes and progress reports.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and best practice.
Skills and Experience required for the Project Engineer role:
  • Must have hands on engineering, welding and fabrication exposure.
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication processes, welding techniques and relevant industry standards (AWS, D1.1, AISC, ASME)
  • Able to discuss and communication effectively about fabrication drawings
  • Project management skills
  • Good IT skills
