Product Manager - Condition MonitoringMy client is a leading UK independent electrical engineering group delivering design, manufacturing, installation, maintenance and service solutions to customers across a broad range of industrial and commercial sectors.They have a division who specialise in Condition Monitoring solutions for Rotating Machines and they are looking to recruit a Product Manager. The right person will have an in-depth working knowledge of Partial Discharge with demonstrable experience of managingand developing the products while supporting the sales effort and technical/commercial queries. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to travel both within the UK and overseas.The Product Manager will be responsible for the management of the product range throughout the Product Lifecycle and new product development, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and workingclosely with R&D, production, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager will also ensure high manufacturing quality, cost control and continuous improvement of the products.Key Responsibilities:Identify market and key customers product requirements and coordinate with R&D and Production teams to ensure that these requirements are implemented. Lead the process for future product development from early business case analyses to market launch activitiesWork closely with R&D and Production teams in development of high-quality products (including software solutions), improvement of existing products and reducing cost through technology, production process and materials. Management of the entire product lifecycle process and leading of the after-sales support activity. Manage the roadmap planning and strategic activities for the product range. Monitoring of competition, pricing, product positioning, sales targets and related profitability analyses in cooperationwith the sales and marketing team. Management/overview of the production team performance and process of all products within the range. Management of the product technical documentation,build documentation, drawings, revisions, manuals, certificate, data sheets,ensuring data is accurate, archived and easily retrievable from the server. Management of software and system for product range. Providing technical support as the product champion to internal and external customers. Writing of customer reports and analysingdata for distributors within the network. Training of products to Distributors, customers and others Business Units. Attending customer site and marketing events to support Sales/Business Development with technical presentations as and when required. Attendingcustomer sites to commission systems as and when required. Be active in all industry standards and regulations that are related to the products and applications.Qualifications/ Requirements:Desirable BSc or MSc in electrical or mechanical engineering. Demonstrable product experience of condition monitoring. Design, service or commercial application of condition monitoring technologies (ideally partial discharge monitoring). Minimum 5 yearsof successful industry experience in Product Management or related role (such as research or industrial manufacturing) Solid technical background in Systems Engineering (Hardware/Software/Embedded Architectures). Being fluent in English - written and verbalis essential. Proven expertise in Project management, Product life cycle management and industrial software development. Knowledge of Rotating machines high voltage systems and applications. Knowledge of assembly and mechanical construction of equipment, PCBdesign (FPGA / Microcontroller) as well as analogue and digital signal processingSoftware skills: Altium Designer, C#, (C++ and microcontroller programming desirable), MS-Office, MS Project Quality training, quality control and quality assurance.Demonstrated leadership skills in a cross-functional or matrix environment, global thinker. Hands-on approach and flexibility. Customer-focused problem solving, clear thinking.
