NHS GrampianAn exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of NHS Grampians Board Secretary based in Aberdeen.The post holder will be responsible for providing a comprehensive secretariat service to the Board and its Committees to ensure the effective and efficient administration of Board activity consistent with Corporate Governance arrangements, including on legal and financial matters. They will work at regional and national level to influence the development of national Board governance policy, procedure and systems.This is an exciting time to joint NHS Grampian, with the Boards strategic vision paving the way for the development of a refreshed clinical strategy to 2028 and the application of learning from the coronavirus pandemic response.Key elements of the role include;Managing the Executive Business Support Unit to ensure a proactive, effective and continually improving provision of a comprehensive range of administrative, secretarial and other support services for the Chair, Chief Executive, Board and Committees, and senior leadership teams in NHS Grampian.Providing advice to the Board in relation to the overall governance framework, including the induction and development of Board Members.Organising agendas and the co-ordination and distribution of papers and reports for the Board and its Committees in association with Non-Executive Board Members and Lead Executive Directors.Co-ordinating the governance arrangements between the Board and Committees – ensuring common standards are applied across all committees supporting those governance arrangements.Co-ordinating, reviewing and approving all Government, Ministerial, MSP/MP correspondence, and FOI requests.Supporting the Chairman and Chief Executive with planning the business of the Board and its Committees on an annual basis.Amongst other things detailed in the job description, the successful candidate willHave excellent communication and influencing/advocacy skills.Be able to work on own initiative.Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.Have a record of continuing successfully across professional boundaries.Understand the legal and regulatory environment in which an NHS Board operates.Be well organised and able to work under pressure whilst delivering high quality in constrained timescales.Informal enquiries to Professor Caroline Hiscox,
