Job Description

Lead Welcome Hub Assistant - Refugee SupportLocation - AberdeenPay Rate - £13.94 per hourHours - 37 hours per week, 9am-6pm, Monday - SundayTemporary post - 6 MonthsThe Social Care Community Partnership are looking to recruit Lead Welcome Hub Assistants to support refugees for Aberdeen City Council. The Welcome Hub provides emergency temporary accommodation and support for displaced people fleeing Ukraine. The purposeof this role is to oversee the delivery of a high-quality Welcome Hub service and to manage, support and develop direct reports, ensuring the team are motivated and focused. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring that customers are supported whererequired and access numerous support services in a manner appropriate for their needs. The post holder will be an excellent communicator, demonstrating empathy, rapport building skills and have a strong customer service ethos.Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Welcome Hub email account.
  • Liaise with organisations as required to ensure safe arrival;
  • Prepare for the welcoming and processing of all new arrivals.
  • Welcome all new arrivals, advising of the process to be followed, meal times etc.
  • Provide an induction to any new staff to the Welcome Hub.
  • Ensure information for the day is published on notice board.
  • Provide a daily Q&A for all checked in guests.
  • Maintain the Welcome Hub records, ensuring up to date and accurate for each individual.
  • Review Cosla form submissions, allocating a case number and updating master spreadsheet to reflect accommodation requests of the individual and to ensure the information aligns with the Welcome Hub spreadsheet.
  • Provide direct line leadership and management for a team of Welcome Hub Assistants within the Welcome Hub.
  • Deal with escalated enquiries and complaints from customers, seeking to resolve these quickly and with the best resolution possible for all parties.
  • Attend relevant meetings as may be relevant to the requirements of the post.
Experience/Skills
  • SVQ 3 or 4 Health and Social Care or equivalent as a minimum.
  • Successful leadership and line management experience.
  • Must be able to Communicate with accuracy and clarity, both verbally and in writing.
  • Looks for creative ways to continuously improve the service.
  • Must be able to Provide active leadership to the team, service or organisation; demonstrates organisational values, transparent in approach, ethical, encourages trust and respect, is self-aware and self regulates their behaviour.
  • Have or be willing to acquire a basic understanding of the implications of immigration status on entitlement to access services.
