Job Description

Looking for a senior role where you can truly make a difference Want to help shape and influence ongoing success through your marketing & communication activitiesWe are delighted to be supporting Sport Aberdeen, an award winning organisation with a vision to be the best sport and leisure charitable trust in Scotland who are looking for a Head of Marketing & Comms to join them.Sitting as part of the senior leadership team and backed up by a talented team, this is a highly visible role where you will be creating opportunities, inspiring people and changing lives through sport and physical activity. What were looking for: Strategic Management:

  • Creating and implementing marketing and communication strategies
  • Developing and executing internal and external communications strategies, including public relations and media interactions
  • Leading the business in commercial development strategy, focusing on increasing membership and program income, as well as managing and expanding advertising and sponsorship revenue
People Leadership and Management:
  • Inspiring and motivating the dynamic marketing team to align with the company mission and goals
  • Providing clear direction and support to our employees to drive success
  • Promoting a culture of continuous organisational improvement with a strong customer focus
Marketing and Communications:
  • Creating effective integrated marketing, communications and business development strategies which maximise income growth through increased participation in Sport Aberdeen programmes and activities and grow the companys market share and reputation
  • Managing media relations and strategic communications activity
  • Ensuring a thorough understanding of customer needs and motivations, determining the most effective means of targeting prospects
  • Working with Head of HR and Organisational Development, to progress the internal communication framework that supports employee engagement with, and understanding of, the companys business
  • Analysing all sales and commercial activity reports using the data to provide insight on the companys performance around commercial activity and sales, utilising the information to inform business development decisions and improve performance

  • Embracing a participative and collaborative working style, leveraging your interpersonal skills to foster effective teamwork with partners, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • Being a supportive and engaged colleague, actively participating in relevant meetings and keeping your team informed about critical matters.
