Job Description

Job Title: Electrical & Electronic Design EngineerLocation: Old Meldrum, Aberdeenshire, UKJob Type: PermanentSalary: Up to £65,000 per annum (depending on experience)Benefits: Competitive salary, Monday to Friday work schedule (37.5 hours per week), Additional benefitsFINTEC Recruit is currently seeking a talented Electrical & Electronic Design Engineer for our client specializing in Energy and Subsea projects. This is a permanent role based in North Aberdeenshire with an attractive salary and benefits package.Join our clients dedicated team and contribute to innovative engineering design solutions in the field of energy and subsea technology.As an Electrical & Electronic Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in providing engineering design solutions, offering through-life engineering support, and monitoring product ranges. Working within a multi-discipline engineering team, you will playa key role in creating and enhancing cutting-edge electronic products.Responsibilities:

  • Designing new products to meet client requests for upgrades and changes to equipment in the field.
  • Providing design input for new products and engineering support for existing product ranges.
  • Assessing technical queries and offering viable solutions.
  • Sourcing materials and components, creating specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, and reports.
  • Checking detailed manufacturing drawings as the technical approver of drawings and documentation generated within the electrical and electronic products team.
  • Conducting occasional visits to external client sites.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Electrical or electronic engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven skills in electrical and electronic design.
  • Extensive experience in circuit design, PCB layout, and embedded software (MPLAB, ST32).
  • Good knowledge of electrical systems and PCB design software such as Altium Designer (schematic capture & layout).
  • Proficiency in generating design calculations, knowledge of design standards, and industry guidelines.
  • Previous product design experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with PLM systems for generating and storing engineering packages.
  • Prior experience in Comms Over Power equipment design or Downhole Oilfield Tool design would be advantageous, though not essential.
