Job Description

Our Client, a designing and manufacturing hydraulic equipment company, are currently recruiting for a CNC Turner/Miller. Based in Aberdeen, you will be working for a company that services a number of key sectors including oil and gas, subsea, heavy industryand industrial process control systems.Responsibilities:

  • The programming setting up and running of a variety of different types of machined parts ensuring maximum productivity levels are achieved.
  • Working to a high standard of safety.
  • Complying with the companys HR operational policies.
  • Maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate initiative by recommending improvements in production methods.
  • Working in compliance with workshop legislation, quality and operational procedures and work instructions.
  • Mentoring of apprentices as required.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work area.
Skills:
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings in both imperial and metric dimensions.
  • Experienced in setting up work using 3 and 4 jaw powered and manual chucks.
  • Good knowledge with various types of indexible tooling and drills, and ability to select the most efficient for the parts to be machined.
  • Good knowledge of appropriate speeds, feeds and cut depths for a variety of engineering materials, including carbon, alloy and stainless steels.
  • Awareness of efficient cycle time expectations for various machined components.
  • Knowledge of a variety of CNC lathes and control systems
  • Able to work to close tolerances typically around +/-0.001"
  • Able to use a variety of micrometer measuring equipment
  • Attention to detail to ensure all work is of a high quality
