Job Title: Laboratory TechnicianLocation: Nantgarw, CardiffSalary: £20,000 per annum + substantial benefitsHours: 09:00 - 17:00 - will need to be flexible to meet business needsClosing date: Monday 26th JulyBiocatalysts is a global biotechnology company producing speciality enzymes at commercial scales, offering both off-the-shelf enzyme products and a customised enzyme discovery, development and manufacturing service. From identifying an enzyme that existsas a concept on a database, through to producing large scale commercial quantities of stable enzymes suitable for global shipment.We have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician (Enzyme Assays) who will be part of our highly motivated Assay Team within our Compliance department.About the role:The role will be an integral member of our compliance and project teams - helping to deliver the needs of our customers. Primarily to deliver enzyme assay data to ensure quality control of our high-quality enzyme products; as well as meeting our customersspecifications and are delivered on time.About you:Being analytical with great attention to detail and accuracy is essential. You will be an integral member of our compliance and project teams - helping to deliver the needs of our customers. You will have practical experience of working in a lab environment.Having a relevant science degree and/or knowledge of the fundamentals of enzyme assays and protein analysis will be a distinct advantage.You will need to have achieved at least 200 points at A/AS level (including DD at GCE A2 for two science subjects or equivalent), 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above (including Maths, Science and English).To accommodate our manufacturing processes and to meet the needs of our customers, you will have a can do attitude, be able to work flexibly and change your normal hours or on a shift basis (with additional reimbursements).If you enjoy practical work along with an enthusiastic approach and willingness to learn, are conscientious, friendly and have the motivation to succeed, we would love to learn more about you.Candidates with experience of: Lab Technician, Lab Tech, Lab Assistant, Senior Laboratory Assistant, Laboratory Engineer, Laboratory Assistant, Laboratory Tech, Graduate Science Technician, Enzyme Analyst, Microbiologist may also be considered for this role.
