Job Description

HSE Officer required to work for a well-established manufacturer who is part of a large global group of companies. PURPOSETo co-ordinate the activities of the health, safety and environmental function at our Llantrisant facility. To ensure key business standards relating to health, safety & environment are implemented and adhered to. Implementation of robust training packagesand development strategies for the site. Nature and scope of position:The HSE Officer is a key member of the Operations team and is responsible for assuring the development and application of our HSE management systems at our clients manufacturing facility. Their prime accountability is to develop, implement and enforce our health, safety and environmental systems, which operate within the operation, thereby ensuring that processes are adheres to, and products manufactured in accordance within company and statutoryrequirements. The systems include, but are not limited to data record systems (e.g. traceability, training, HACCP) and records to show due diligence etc. The HSE Officer will actively support the manufacturing team in data monitoring, continuous improvement initiatives and any specialist training appropriate to the function. Responsibilities (Not Exhaustive):* To ensure the site adheres to current H&S Legislation and stays compliant by continuously reviewing the legal register. Collect, analyse, and report all KPI data to agreed deadlines. * Ensure corporate policies and initiatives are implemented and communicated to all employees. * To support and work with departmental managers in all aspects of H&S management to ensure it is up to standard in their respective departments, with a strong emphasis on risk assessment, training and auditing. * The client, is subject to the internal H&S auditing programme. It is the responsibility of the jobholder to drive full compliance with the company requirements. * Implement and maintain the sites environmental standards and ensure the sites environmental impact is evaluated and objectives and plans are implemented, ISO14001 accreditation to be attained. * Ensure Operation Clean Sweep is fully implemented and adhered to. Continuously promote and educate all employees to ensure full compliance is achieved. * Ensure the ISO 50001 Energy Standard framework is maintained. Actively partake in energy reduction initiatives and support the engineering department. Identifying training needs through the site training plan and PDR process within the company using appropriatetechniques liaising with managers and staff * Coordinate all Training & Development requirements for the site, associated with Health, Safety and the Environment by identifying, co-ordinating and where appropriate, creation of training materials and delivering such training; manage applications for trainingcourses and professional qualifications. * Liaise with all departments to ensure that company rules and procedures are always followed.Qualifications/Experience/Skills:* NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum * Knowledge of EHS regulations and associated requirements * Previous experience in an EHS role * Experience of learning techniques and identifying the most appropriate delivery mechanism for training programs * Passionate about people development and organisational development. * Excellent organisational skills, communication, and interpersonal skills * Work effectively within a teamAcorn Recruitment acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
