Behaviour Support Mentor*Full Time**MondayFriday**8.303.30**£10.77+ per hour*A SEN school in Aberdare is looking for 2x behaviour Support Mentors to work as a 2:1 team with a young person with complex Autism (ASD). The learner requires 2:1 support to manager their behaviour as they display challenging behaviour throughout the schoolday. The Behaviour Support Mentor must have experience managing challenging behaviour and be able to reduce it confidently and effectively. The school also requires the behaviour support mentor to have experience supporting someone with complex ASD, (thiscould be working or personal experience) to fully understand the learners needs and triggers.The Behaviour Support Mentor will be working in a team within the classroom with other support staff and a teacher to help learning. The school day is very structured with a mixture of short lessons and outside activities, the schools uses the alternativecurriculum which focuses largely on sensory based activities so students may be taking part in sensory cooking, water play, games, and prompting independence. In some cases the behaviour support mentor will be expected to help students in the wider class withpersonal care if needed so the Behaviour Support Mentor must be comfortable with nappy changing, pad changing and toileting.The school caters to students aged 3-19; supporting students into further education whether this be collage or residential care.
