Job Description

Role: Runner Based: Yate, BS37 5NG plus driving across the UKSalary: £9 per hour (around £18,000 per year)Fancy a new and varied, hands-on, physical role with a leading engineering company in YateConfident travelling on your own to locations around the UK as part of the backup crewLooking to prove your work ethic and desire to learnAnd translate that hard work and brilliant attitude into a long term career with loads of potentialRead on as wed love to introduce you to Bence in Yate.We are helping a very well established specialist vehicle and coachbuilding company to expand their very busy team based in Yate, north of Bristol.If you have an interest or love tinkering with cars, anything mechanical, then this could be brilliant for you.Youll be a vital member of the team that build fire engines, medical units, and command and control vehicles - and this initial role could lead to a lifelong career building these vehicles!Here is what youll be up to as the teams new Runner:

  • Travelling to sites across the UK (sometimes staying over)
  • Keeping the yard and production area tidy and clean
  • Helping the production team with anything they may need
  • Learning bits and pieces about each of their roles (identify whether youd love to learn and do the same!)
Joining the Production Team means youll be working on high-value specialist trailers and vehicles and youll have:
  • Experience or an interest in mechanics, tinkering with vehicles - a genuine interest in motors
  • Full clean driving licence plus the confidence to be able to drive on your own around the UK
  • A can-do attitude.
  • Easy to work with and a fantastic member of a growing team.
  • Love a challenge and thrive in being in a busy environment.
  • A strong work ethic and pride in your appearance is an absolute must.
  • Plus you have a real desire to develop from the runner role into a more structured trainee role or apprenticeship.
