Job Description

Our client, a local authority based in Yate are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team. This is on a temporary ongoing contract basis.The purpose of the role is to:

  • Attend site visits to undertake accident investigations and health & safety audits where Council works take place, these could include offices, public buildings, care premises, schools, depots, workshops, and other external locations including civil constructionsites, public open spaces, and highways.
  • Provide direct advice and guidance on health and safety matters to ensure that the health, safety and welfare of employees, members of the public and other visitors is safeguarded whilst in or near the Councils buildings, premises, or work sites.
  • Provide a Health & Safety policy, operational advice, and monitoring service to managers and employees to fulfil the Councils accountabilities and to secure compliance with statutory obligations as part of the Health & Safety Team.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies/attributes;A degree/HND or equivalent would be ideal but not essential. Candidates will required NEBOSH.Previous experience of H&S inspections, accident investigations etc.The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position.
