Yarm, ClevelandCirca Salary £8.71 an hour Permanent - Part Time - School Term timeA place for children to find their feet.The roleAt Spring Layfield, we are looking for confident and experienced Early Years Assistants to join our nursery as part of a passionate and welcoming team to work in term-time only.What do we do at Spring Layfield We are a day care provision that look after children ages 6 weeks to 11 years. Following the Early Years Foundation Stage, we offer a range of activities to help the childrens development. This is a lunchtime assistantcover post, which would be working for 10 hours a week with an opportunity to work some additional hours.You will make a difference by:-Working as part of a team creating an environment in which childrens individual needs are met and high standards of care are provided, which meet the requirements set out in the National Minimum Standards and the Foundation Phase.-Working alongside nursery practitioners in supporting childrens development, participating, planning and setting up activities for a range of children.-Developing successful relationships with children and their families.-Observing and track childrens development and share this with parent/carers and other professionals.-Supporting children during mealtimes and toilet training.You will need:-Level 2 early years and childcare qualification e.g., NNEB, CACHE, Or minimum NVQ level 2 or above.-Safeguarding Level 2 or ability to achieve.-Experience working in an early years childcare setting or a setting working with children.-Planning, observation and reflection of children and their learning (desired)-A thorough current working knowledge of childrens emotional, physical, psychological and educational developmental needs from 0 to 5 years.-Working knowledge of particular requirements of children with special needs in terms of support, development and care.-Awareness and understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues for children aged 0 to 5 years.-Paediatric First Aid Qualification or ability to achieve.-Enhanced DBS or ability to achieve.-Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or ability to achieve.The way we workWe are proud to be part of Action for Children, a national childrens charity and our success in Spring makes a difference.
