Job Description

Yarm,ClevleandCirca £21,858 per annum.Fixed term Full -time 40 hours per week - April 2021 A place for children to find their feet.The roleAs an Deputy Manager, youll be a huge part of running our setting in Yarm at Spring Layfield. We are a day care provision that look after children ages 6 weeks to 11 years. Following the Early Years Foundation Stage we offer a range of activities to help the childrens development. This is a maternity cover post until April 2021 working on a Full-time basis, 40 hours a week.You will make a difference by:-Support the Nursery Manager with daily tasks and assuming direct responsibility for the setting in their absence.-Line managing a team and acting as a mentor for all nursery staff and students, being a consistent and approachable leader for the team.-Taking the lead on practice within the Nursery, ensuring that children experience a broad range of appropriate play and learning opportunities in accordance with the EYFS.-Working in partnership as a key person with parents / carers, ensuring to keep accurate records and development reports on their childs progress through the Family app.-Maintaining a high standard of Health & Safety requirements, undertaking risk assessments and completing accident reports, self-checks and workplace inspections.-Monitor safeguarding and child protection issues, attending all relevant meetings as needed.-Developing a working understanding of the nursery budget, assist with fee collection and preparing budgets, financial and occupancy reports.You will need:-Experience of working in a supervisory / management role within an early years childcare setting-Level 3 Early Years and Childcare qualification e.g. NVQ, NNEB, CACHE-Working knowledge of child protection and safeguarding issues, with experience of attending associated meetings-A thorough current working knowledge of childrens emotional, physical, psychological and educational developmental needs from 0 to 4 years. This should include an understanding of requirements for children with special needs in terms of support, development and care.-Confident in using digital systems to record, plan, observe and communicate with others, and demonstrate the ability to comply with organisational expectations and national regulatory inspections e.g. Ofsted / Care Inspectorate.-Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents and stakeholders.-An efficient, expressive and creative manner with a flair for problem solving.The way we workWe are proud to be part of Action for Children, a national childrens charity and our success in Spring makes a difference.
