Job Description

Summary Have you got fantastic organisational and communication skills, and are able to multi-task and prioritise your own workload As one of our Welcome Managers, youll help to lead a team of staff and volunteers to ensure everyone feels welcome, creatingan exceptional service culture whilst developing and supporting your team. This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from maternity leave. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 months. What its like to work here Clumber Park is a beautiful expanse of parkland, heath and woods covering more than 3,800 acres. Clumber was once the country estate of the Dukes of Newcastle. Youll be dividing your time between supporting the team and being out and about, as well as in the office where youll take care of the various administrative tasks. Were a passionate team and youll be spending a lot of time working with people whetherthis is on the ground or attending meetings on behalf of the Visitor Welcome Team. What youll be doing Daily, youll find yourself with two hatshelping to lead our team of staff and volunteer visitor welcome service assistants and leading a culture of excellent service for our visitors. Working closely with both the Welcome Managers, youll help look after our Visitor Welcome and Service Assistant teams with the aim of creating an inspiring and motivational place for them to work in. Youll lead by example in everything you do and willprovide regular feedback to help the team with their personal development. Youll be responsible for enabling our team to achieve targets through setting clear objectives and ensuring everyone feels confident and capable in your asks of them.Your other hat will concentrate on providing the best possible experience for all our visitors. Youll deal with general enquiries from our visitors whether that be face to face, phone or email enquiries and will exercise judgement when dealing with anycomplaints to act and resolve it for our visitors there and then. With your experience in achieving targets, youll work to make sure we are maximising income to Clumber Park. Everything you do will be about growing support for our charitable cause. Who were looking for Youll need to have the following experience:

  • Have excellent people management skills, enabling good working relationships with those in your team and across the property.
  • Experience of working with and supervising permanent staff and volunteers.
  • Practical experience in visitor businesses, hospitality, and/or sales.
  • Have a flexible customer focused approach with experience in delivering high standards of customer service.
  • Experience of setting and delivering performance targets.
  • Experience of promoting commercial or charitable products/services.
  • Empathy with aims of the National Trust, with genuine interest and knowledge of the work of the Trust.
