Job Description

Student Support Team Leader – Physical Activity and Mental WellbeingHours; Full time (37 hrs per week, all year round)Duration; PermanentSalary; £36,258 per annum + benefitsLocation; North Notts College, Worksop (working at other sites as/when required)About the RoleThe role of Student Support Team Leader – Physical Activity and Mental Wellbeing offers you the chance to play a leading role in ensuring that students have the appropriate support to help them succeed and reach their full potential. This includes creatingan engaging programme of physical activities, participation and sport performance competitions, clubs/societies and events that will benefit students physical and mental health.As the Student Support Team Leader – Physical Activity and Mental Wellbeing, you will manage a multifunctional team of Mentors, Attendance and Pastoral Officer, Counsellor, Personal Development Coordinators, Bursary Advisors and Work Experience to supportlearners. You will lead on Student Support elements for the college such as sports clubs, competitions, Personal Development, Student Voice, Reflection rooms, Student Union and Safeguarding. You will also take a cross college lead and focus on physical activity,development of sporting opportunities including AoC Sports competitions and festivals, and mental wellbeing, having a focus on healthy life choices and student centred/trauma informed practice. You will demonstrate the ability to work with colleagues to sharebest practice in terms of creating psychological safe environments for students to thrive. The key roles across the group for physical activity and mental wellbeing, will be trained in trauma informed practice and will provide emotional available adults forstudents to connect with and have a positive impact in developing healthy behaviours and attitudes to learning.Due to the complex nature of the group, there will be a Student Support Team Leader at each campus, who will work closely together to ensure high quality, consistent student experience throughout the RNN Group, there will be a requirement to work at differentcampuses. Your role will be primarily based at one of the three College Campus line managing the Student Support team on site.You will…have experience of working within an educational environment, ideally within a Further Education/Post 16 environment. You will have experience of developing sporting clubs/academy structures within colleges or sporting arena and teams.You will have knowledge and experience of Student Wellbeing and Pastoral support within the Further Education sector as well as knowledge of FE Sports Strategy and Sport Development within the education sector.You will have qualifications in English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE), and a Level 3 qualification in either an IAG, Business Administration or a similar Customer Service focused area, plus experience and/ or qualification in Counselling. You should also havea L2 NGB Coaching qualification. You will also be able to work with respect, sensitivity and confidentiality.DepartmentInfoThe Student Support Team Leader – Physical Activity and Mental Wellbeing will report to the Head of High Needs and Student Support working closely with the Student Support teams onsite, and other Student Support Team Leaders, as well as colleagues at othercampus locations. You will also liaise with curriculum managers and tutors to ensure learners access appropriate support for their individual learner journey.Our excellent benefits and rewards package:
