We have more than 4,000 dedicated colleagues, at 14 locations across the country, all sharing the same obsession for our great food.Job description:Sensory & Product Guidance TechnologistBased in WorksopRole Purpose:A member of the Premier Sensory & Product Guidance department that works on the Sensory and Consumer Research for Grocery and Sweet Treats.The Technologist will play an active role in the business’ innovation plans and monitoring our product quality through consumer testing.The Technologist will be involved in both Consumer Research and Trained Sensory Panel Research. They will be involved with all aspects of the testing including developing questionnaires, running panel sessions, statistical analysis and reporting findings to key business stakeholders (NPD, Marketing, Insights) and may be required to travel occasionally to other Premier Food’s Site to run taste panels. Additionally, the technologist will be involved in data analytics, using research and market data to provide insight into product performance and identify trends in data to guide future development work and focus for the business.What you will be doing:

  • General Project Management – Seeing projects from start to finish, attaining background information, product sourcing, assessing products and creating preparation protocols, organising testing, analyse of data and report writing organise debriefs and communicating results to the project team.
  • Employee and Consumer Research – manage projects with external agencies, communicate well with panel leaders, work with agencies and panel leaders to deliver projects in a timely manner. Provide direction to agencies and carry out approval of paperwork produced by agencies. Carry out auditing of fieldwork.
  • Trained Sensory Panel – Occasional running of trained panel sessions and supporting with complex projects.
  • Product analytics – Managing S&PG product research databases and carrying out data pulling and analysis of product research, sales data and market performance. Creating actionable insights for the business to build into R&D plans.
  • What we need from you:
  • BSc in Food Science or Food technology or related subject
  • Experience in Sensory & Consumer Research
  • Data Analysis
  • Knowledgeable of principles of Sensory Science &Sensory Evaluation Methodologies
  • Confident Excel & Powerpoint user
