Job Description

Sales Manager - Edge Protection Systems Job Title: Sales Manager - Edge Protection Systems (office based)Industry Sector: Edge Protection Systems, Edge Protection, Structural Steel, Timber Frames, Structural Steel, Steel Fabrication, Steel Fabricator, Steel Framing, Edge Protection, Non Mechanical Plant Equipment, Concrete, Main Contractors, Sub Contractors, Vinci, Willmott Dixon, ISG, Morgan Sindall, KierArea to be covered: North EnglandMust be based: Lincoln / Worksop Area Remuneration: £30,000 - £40,000neg (depending on experience) + bonus tbcBenefits: Audi A3 / Merc A- Class + comprehensive benefits packageThe role of the Sales Manager - Edge Protection Systems will involve:

  • Internal office based sales position selling the hire an sale of a manufactured range of edge protection systems such as structural steel and timber frames, free standing barriers, lift protection, edge protection barriers etc
  • All of your time will be spend selling into main contractors such as Vinci, Willmott Dixon, ISG, Morgan Sindall, Kier, engineers, estimators, quantity surveyors, specialist sub contractors and steel fabricators
  • A smaller element of the role will require you to produce estimates
  • Working closely with internal sales support team
  • All of your time working in the commercial and residential market sectors
  • Majority of your time will be spent account managing
  • Average order values range from £10,000 to £250,000
  • Edge protection systems can be on hire from 8 weeks (minimum) to over a 1 year
  • Covering a territory which incorporate the whole of the Northern region up to the Scottish border and will require the odd client visit
  • Once up and running in the role will have the option to become UK Sales Manager looking after the TSM’s and internal sales support team
    • The ideal applicant will be Sales Manager - Edge Protection Systems with:
  • Must have a construction sales experience selling a technical product, ideally steel related such as edge protection systems such as structural steel, standing barriers, lift protection, edge protection barriers (would consider other backgrounds)
  • Must be able to read technical drawings and work with engineers to provide a solution
  • Consultative, solution sales environment, not a hard sell
  • Would consider experience of working for a steel fabricator
  • Ideally have experience in selling to specialist sub-contractors such as: concrete and steel frame contractors and main contractors
  • Ideally have contacts with tier 1 contractors such as Vinci, Willmott Dixon, ISG, Morgan Sindall, Kier
  • Capable of managing and expanding existing relationships and generating new business
  • Organised, have good time management skills and to be self-motivated to perform and reach targets
