Job Description

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working in partnership with a successful PE back manufacturing business as they look to appoint an Operational Finance Manager for their new manufacturing facility in Blyth, near Worksop.Reporting to the Finance Director, who is based at head office, you will be the lead for finance on site, with responsibility for ensuring a day-to-day focus on operational costs through targeted performance reporting and real time business partnering. With responsibility for reporting the numbers coming out of the facility, Operations Finance oversees the controls around core cost inputs such as stock movements, direct labour utilisation and factory overheads, whilst also helping to ensure the appropriatereturn on investment on CAPEX. Success here means consistently bringing about incremental improvement in the numbers by spotlighting sources of slippage, unlocking insight-backed opportunities and identifying potential risks that may derail the sites numbers from hitting plan so they canbe successfully mitigated.Responsibilities will include:- Take ownership of the factory P&L- Form an integral & accountable part of the site leadership team- Challenge & work with the Operations & Procurement teams to drive consistentimprovement through their primary KPIs (waste, labour efficiency, OTIF, transport andstorage costs, overheads/kg, etc.) such that they outperform vs budgeted expectations- Revamp & oversee effective operational performance reporting coupled with commentary,variance analysis, insights & recommendations to help move the needle on the abovemetrics- Implement robust controls around key processes and cost inputs (e.g. stock, CAPEX spend,etc.), including optimal systems utilisation- Maintain a forward-looking agenda to ensure we are staying ahead of the capacity curve andthinking long term in terms of decision-making- Taking the lead for the annual & half yearly budgeting process for the site- Work with key stakeholders to: identify risks and support in their mitigation identify opportunities and support in their realisation- Manage and develop a high-performing Operations Finance team, providing coaching andguidance to your direct reports through regular 1x1s and performance reviewsKey Skills / qualifications:- Qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent.- Solid experience in a Finance Manager or Finance Business Partnering role within aManufacturing, Retail or FMCG environment will be hugely beneficial- SAP/SAP B1 experience desirable- Confident holding people to account and driving change where needed- Strong communicator & collaborator who is able to influence decision-making & outcomesfor the better with effective use of data- Self-starter who can adapt quickly in a fast- paced environment- Entrepreneurial can do attitude with exceptional attention to detail With the business doubling sales year on year, and exciting plans ahead to expand the business overseas, this is a great time to join the business.In return for your hard work and commitment you will be rewarded well with a competitive basic salary, and equity in the business.Other benefits include: 33 days holiday (includes 8 bank holidays) and an additional day for every year of serviceup to 5 years £500 personal learning & development budget Private Medical Insurance are Pension with NEST Cycle to work scheme Flexible working hours and work from home optionsIf you are interested in the great job opportunity please apply today!
