Job Description

Maths and English Lead (Apprenticeships)Hours; Full time (37hrs per week), Duration; PermanentSalary; £35,373 per annum + benefitsLocation; Cross College, Rotherham and WorksopAbout the RoleThe Maths and English Lead for Apprenticeships will lead on the co-ordination of functional skills delivery within all Apprenticeship provision across the group. The role will include the line management of a small team of Apprenticeship Functional Skillstutors.In this role you will co-ordinate and lead on the delivery of English and Maths within Apprenticeships clearly articulating an ambitious vision and high expectations for what and how all learners can achieve. You will support the Apprenticeship deliveryteam to implement strategies to ensure achievement of internal targets for English, maths and ICT, ensuring outcomes are continually improved.The role of Maths and English Lead (Apprenticeships) is key to supporting the Apprenticeship delivery teams with the embedding of English and maths in the vocational delivery and to liaise with classroom-based leaders of English and maths for consistencyof all process and procedures.You willbe working across the group providing strategic leadership in Maths and English as well as teaching within your specialism. Great communication and leadership skills are essential for this role. You will be required to hold:

  • teaching and Maths and/or English qualifications
  • teaching experience within the Maths and/or English specialism
An assessing award and previous experience in leading apprenticeship maths and English provision would be desirable.This is an exciting opportunity for an existing Maths and English Lead or an experienced Lecturer or functional skills tutor looking to take the next step in their career.Department InfoYou will report to the Assistant Principal for Apprenticeships and will liaise with the Apprenticeship Curriculum Managers. You will teach for approximately 612 hours per year which and may cover various sites. Cross site coordination is part of the role.Our excellent benefits and rewards package:
