We are undergoing a period of significant change in the Library Service, and wider organisation, as we move towards a blended learning approach. We are in the process of introducing lots of new digital services and resources in the Library Service which you will help to develop in this role. This role will support a wider shift in the Library Service towards more digital services and away from the concept of the Library as simply a physical space. This person will be out and about around college (virtually or physically!) and will be highly visible to curriculum staff. The Knowledge and Skills Lead role is designed to be closely aligned to the Ofsted EIF, and it is hoped that this will support the college move towards a ‘Good’ Ofsted category (and then ‘Outstanding’). Key parts of this are to help learners achieve higher grades, and to help learners reach their full potential. We need a strong study skills presence on the North Notts campus, and someone who can engage tutors and learners with a vibrant and engaging study skills offering. You will lead on the Library’s study skills offering for Level 1 and 2 learners (in both classroom-based and work-based learning), and deliver tailored support to these areas. This may include in-class sessions, 1-2-1 support, virtual support and video tutorials/online activities. You will also support us to reach more Level 3 learners with study skills support. This will be achieved through working closely with colleagues in curriculum areas and Quality, as well as staff in the Library Service.Have you got what it takesYou will have experience of working in an educational setting and of teaching or delivering support to learners, particularly teenagers and adults. You will also have experience of developing digital tools and resources. You will have a Librarianship/Information/Knowledge Management qualification at Level 4 or above as well as Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy. You may also hold an appropriate teaching qualification at level 3 of above and/or a digital accreditation in education, such as Google Educator, Apple Teacher or Microsoft Certified Educator.
